Just an hour and half away from Male (by speed boat) is Baani Lodge – a little corner of paradise where you will rest and enjoy the wonderful Maldivian hospitality while discovering wonderful beaches and waters.
Baani Lodge is a corner of Paradise nested in Felidhoo island, Vaavu Atoll. Baani Lodge comprises 6 beautifully-constructed rooms, all with ensuite private bathrooms. A clever use of exquisite wooden features (reclaimed from the Tsunami) makes each room unique. A cosy common area, a nice intimate restaurant and a luxurious garden complete the property.

Our philosophy
Our philosophy is to inspire a healthy impact to our community and planet. Our local economy is vastly dependent on tourism for the livelihood of locals. In the wake of this setting, it is our primary objective to ensure that we contribute positively towards our local environment, our society and the economy of the island as a whole.
In Baani, we always promote local culture, cuisine, handicrafts, and offerings. We feel honored to be in a location where we too can do our share, however small, to preserve natural beauty, to recycle and to contribute to sustain the local community and the island life. The way Baani is positioned and organized guarantees peace and rest, and we ensure to also provide the opportunity to taste local food and drinks. We strive to make our guests’ holidays as relaxed and enlightening as possible – relax from the stress of everyday lives while discovering the magnificence of Mother Nature within the tranquil environment and culture of our atoll.
We encourage and provide opportunity for our guests to join our local community and experience our folk dances, traditional costumes, local arts and crafts. These are an integral part of our offering for our guests – ensuring the opportunity to interact with the locals for mutual benefit and understanding.

We encourage our guests to buy local handicrafts as souvenirs for their loved ones and shop with local weavers and artisans to help sustain their arts. It is our primary objective that our guests get to enjoy an authentic, real experience of local customs, traditions, and cultures.

Our excursion tours (included in itinerary), provide the opportunity to visit nearby desert islands, sandbanks, reefs, and lagoons where guests can enjoy the natural beauty of Maldives.
Sustainability

Refurbished old walls, surrounded by greenery, 100% recycled wood and entirely local materials unify accommodations with our in-house landscape.
Filtered groundwater for showers, harvested rainwater for food preparation and natural fertilizers nourish the grounds and edible gardens. Banana, coconut, lemongrass and other varieties of local herbs follow the in-house landscape, where a garden path of flowers and trees attracts native butterflies and birds.
Harnessing Natural Power
Baani is intent on reducing its carbon footprint annually and promoting sustainable practices at all times, including the careful monitoring of water and electricity consumption. Maximum natural lights, with energy use minimized through the latest appliance inverter technology and LED lighting (which also limits disturbance to the biotic community).
Natural Local Materials
Windows, doors, outdoor flooring and room furniture have been crafted from entirely recycled local and drifted wood from local seas. Wooden floors outside the porch area in front of rooms are finished with used natural woods. Local sand and corals pieces washed on the local beach are used to create pathways inside the boundaries.
